About these terms

These terms apply to the myMLA.ca website during its early-access preview. By using the site or joining the early-access list, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

What myMLA.ca is

myMLA.ca is an independent, non-partisan civic information platform for Alberta. It is not affiliated with the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, Elections Alberta, the Government of Alberta, any MLA, political party, candidate or campaign. We do not endorse or oppose any party, candidate or referendum outcome.

Early access

The site is a preview. Features, content and availability may change, pause or end at any time without notice. Joining the early-access list is free and does not create a paid membership or guarantee access to future features or pricing.

Information on the site

We aim to link public information to official sources such as the Legislative Assembly of Alberta and Elections Alberta. Some content during the preview may be sample or demonstration material and will be labelled as such. Information is provided for general civic awareness and may be incomplete or out of date. Always check the official source before relying on it. Nothing on the site is legal, financial or professional advice.

Your responsibilities

Please use the site lawfully and respectfully. Don't sign up anyone else without their permission, submit false information, try to access data that isn't yours, disrupt the site, or use automated tools to overload or scrape it.

Emails

If you join the early-access list, we'll send a message asking you to confirm your email. After you confirm, we may send launch and product announcements. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.

Privacy

How we collect, use and protect your information is explained in our Privacy Notice.

Intellectual property

The myMLA.ca name, design and original content belong to myMLA.ca. Official public records remain subject to their sources' own terms. Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience, and we aren't responsible for their content.

Limitation of liability

The site is provided “as is” during early access. To the extent permitted by law, myMLA.ca isn't liable for any loss arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content.

Changes

We may update these terms. If we make a significant change, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, let early-access members know.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the applicable laws of Canada.
