myMLA.ca Privacy Notice (Early Access)

Who we are

myMLA.ca is an independent, non-partisan civic platform operated in Alberta, Canada. Questions about your privacy go to our Privacy Officer at communications@mymla.ca.

What we collect

When you join the early-access list, we collect your email address, your riding if you choose one, a record of your consent (the wording you agreed to and when), and whether you've confirmed your email. To prevent spam and abuse, we also briefly process technical information such as your IP address and browser.

Why we collect it

We use your information only to confirm your email address and, once you've confirmed, to send launch and product announcements from myMLA.ca. Your riding helps us understand interest across Alberta's 87 ridings.

What we never do

We never sell your information, and we never share it with political parties, candidates, campaigns, MLAs or advertisers.

Where it's stored

Your sign-up is stored in a secure database in Canada (Supabase, Canada Central region), with access limited to the myMLA.ca operator. Emails are sent through Resend, which processes your email address in the United States to deliver messages. Information processed in another country may be subject to that country's laws.

How long we keep it

We delete unconfirmed sign-ups after 30 days. Confirmed sign-ups are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, or until the early-access program ends.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. You can also email communications@mymla.ca to see, correct or delete your information, and we'll respond within 30 days.

Changes

If this notice changes, we'll update the date above. We'll ask for your consent again before using your information in a new way.
